Our benefits philosophy is guided by two overarching principles. First, a solid compensation philosophy is essential in today’s rapidly evolving talent market. Second, benefits are foundational to team happiness and are not the same as perks. Perks are delightful add-ons that enhance employee experience but should never be used to make up for the lack of a competitive compensation and benefits package.

Compensation and Equity Philosophy

Our compensation package is intentionally designed with the following goals in mind:

Attract, motivate, and retain top talent
If we want top performers to join and stay with us, we need to pay accordingly. 

Closely align pay and performance
When the company does well, we all do well.

We pay at the 75th percentile (for both base salary and equity) of our competitive market, and we benchmark to higher cost of living cities (such as San Francisco and New York) no matter where our team members live. We standardize our pay, meaning we pay for the role and level, not for any particular individual’s ability to interview or negotiate well. 

Equity is an important and exciting part of our total compensation strategy as a pre-IPO startup. We’re guided by the belief our team members should share in the financial success of our company and grant equity accordingly. 

Benefits

The benefits featured below are designed for our team members in the United States. Not based in the United States? No problem!  We partner with Remote.com to create a comparable local version for our international team members—no matter which country you call home.

Healthcare

Taking care of our team goes beyond the office. We cover 100% of employee health care premium costs. If adding dependents, we contribute 75% of the health care premium cost, so you can be sure that you and your family are in the best possible health.

One Medical

We pay 100% of the cost of a yearly One Medical subscription. This is a membership-based primary care practice on a mission to make getting quality care more affordable, accessible, and enjoyable—no in-person medical visits required!

Flexible Spending Account (FSA)

Our team members can enroll in an FSA, an optional benefit plan that allows employees to set aside pre-tax funds to pay for eligible health care or dependent care expenses.

EAP

The mental health of our team is very important to us. All of our team members have access to free telephone consultations with licensed mental health professionals through IBH. 

Unlimited PTO

Take that vacation! All regular salaried team members enjoy unlimited PTO. We want team members to grow with us and a big part of that is making sure our team has the opportunity to rest and recharge. We also observe 12 holidays every year.

401(k)

We offer a 401(k) option through Human Interest. Eligible team members are automatically enrolled at a 5% contribution, with the option to opt out if desired.

$750 Home Office Reimbursement

Eyeing that new standing desk? Considering a second (or third!) monitor? We offer a one-time $750 home office reimbursement to all team members to get you set up for WFH in comfort and style. This stipend can be used all at once, or over time as smaller purchases are made.

$100/mo cell phone reimbursement

We recognize that cell phones are a must for remote-first teams on the go, so this reimbursement is automatically added to payroll for all employees on a monthly basis.

$75/mo internet reimbursement

A solid internet connection is an absolute must for a remote-first team; we’re happy to reimburse you for some of that cost! 

$100/mo health and wellness reimbursement

Health comes first! Our team members use this reimbursement to cover workout equipment, massages, exercise gear, meditation classes, gym memberships—the list goes on. Whatever gets you moving and grooving!

Intentionally curated remote events

Connecting virtually isn’t impossible; it just takes planning. Our people operations team works hard to put on fun, interactive virtual events like:
- Once a month yoga class
- Once a month virtual lunch with free DoorDash!
- Employee club virtual events
- And more! We're always taking suggestions

In person meet ups

Team Off-Sites: Each team has a quarterly budget to meet up in person, for whatever event makes sense for your team! From Boston to San Diego to Sydney, we’ve been everywhere!
Annual Company Kickoff: At the start of our fiscal year, the entire company gets together for a week to celebrate our accomplishments, enjoy time with one another, and look forward to all that is yet to come!
Regional Get Togethers: We have Slack channels for each region, and a budget for regional groups to set up coworking days, lunches, happy hours, and more.
